Mary Jo's Bouquet is Finished

Mary Jo's Bouquet is finished and will be delivered to the blushing bride on Tuesday. I hope she likes it as much as I do.

I have added a few more flowers and have gotten some suggestions from my teacher and friend, Marni Maree. She is a wonderful artist and has mastered the technique of watercolor on canvas. More to follow. K

Now, I am beginning to place the flowers. I think I want the two shasta daisies to be the stars of the painting, and the other pretty flowers the supporting cast. I lift these flowers out and add some paint to define them. Much more to follow.

The Evolution of Mary Jo's Bouquet

I had some extra Kay time this afternoon and began the process for painting Mary Jo's bouquet. This will be a watercolor on stretched canvas. The first step is to prime the canvas with rubbing alcohol to remove all fingerprints. Then I added lots and lots of magenta, yellow orange, blue, teal, purple in a random pattern. Now, it has to dry before I begin carving out the flowers, using a stiff lifting brush. More to follow.
